Hello, my name is Gina…

…but my grandkids call me Grammy G. This site is inspired by the time we enjoy spending together in Grammy G’s Garden!

My home in northeast Pennsylvania is in Plant Hardiness Zone 7a*. Here, my loving husband and I raised two boys, now with wonderful young children of their own….. gardeners of the future.

When I was eight-years-old, my father said to me, “Gina, it’s your turn to start mowing the lawn!” Since then I have been gardening, working the soil, and growing plants inside and outside ever since.

My mission is to continuously increase my horticultural knowledge and share my education, training, travels, trials and errors with Gardeners of All Ages, which until recently, had only been accomplished by trying, trying, and trying again, until I found the time to fulfill my goal of becoming a Master Gardener.

That dream became a possibility when the nationally-recognized Master Gardener course through PennState Extension was offered virtually during the pandemic. I applied, was accepted into their prestigious program, and my dream came true.

After months of classes, quizzes, exams and volunteer hours, I attained my Master Gardener accreditation! The gardening street-smarts I gained through my “try, try, try” method, and my fresh knowledge of scientific gardening allow me to educate others on best practices in sustainable horticulture and environmental stewardship. I help my community appreciate both the wild and technical sides, by offering sage advice for gardeners of all ages. I am a lifelong learner and I deeply care about plants, gardening, the environment, and helping you nurture your love too. Come, join me in the garden!
